Chronic Fatigue
To those who are not familiar with the word, Chronic simply means that being fatigued is consistent and occurs almost if not everyday of the week. It is also the opposite of the Acute, which means severe. We may not notice it but this condition is really present in society today and is often called a modern-day epidemic or a 21st century plague.
Being fatigued is normal but when you feel sluggish and lethargic consistently on almost a daily basis and throughout the day then you might be one of those with this Chronic Fatigue. The confusing part is when one consumes lots of coffee which has caffeine and undeniably gives one a "kick"; the neurons go on hay-wire and burn a lot faster with caffeine. If you are a coffee drinker then this might be a tricky one to diagnose.
CFS can be further classified as to the following: Fibromyalgia, Hidden Hypothyroidism, Yeast Overgrowth syndrome, Brain Fatigue, Immune Fatigue, Endocrine fatigue. There are MDs who have successfully identified and treated these kinds of conditions which prove they really exist and that not all doctors have the clinical eye to see these things and if you felt lethargic and depressed, he might actually kick you out of his office with a dose of multivitamins and anti-depressants.
There are also doctors in the US that argue that there are some Chronic Fatigue syndromes which cannot be diagnosed through blood work alone. They point out that it is in the patient's complaints and comments that they are able to know if one is suffering from this or not. For instance: the symptoms that would be associated with Hidden Hypothyroidism would include the following:
1. Coldness
2. Constipation
3. Cramps (Muscle)
4. Concentration Problems
We need to read more about this subject matter and look if our bodies are indeed showing signs of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
