If you have scanned the page on the price of soy beans in the market, then you will instantly discover that it is quite expensive producing a pure, unadulterated bottle of soy sauce. It does not take a genius to figure out that a kilo of soy sauce will be quite high in price when made from genuine soy beans ,even if it is massed produced.
But how come manufacturers who claim to produce bottled soy sauces in the Philippines, have products that are selling so cheap? Do these companies really use soy? Has the National FDA even bothered to check the contents of these so called soy sauce bottles if they are fit for human consumption. Bottled soy sauce in the Philippines are so cheap notwithstanding the costly advertising that some famous brands are delving into.
For the sake of your health and that of your family's, check these ingredients on your shelves. As a personal recommendation, look at the bottle that is housing your soy sauce (or other kinds of sauces for that matter) and observe if a black residue or stain resides on the inner walls of the bottle. It does not take a rocket scientist to know that that black residue has got to be a strong food coloring or dye of some sort that when ingested may clog the walls of your stomach and intestines.
Invest in organically and purely made soy sauce. The inner walls of the bottle of the soy sauce needs to look clean and without stains. Right now, my family is trying this brand, which says is organic:
After a 15 days of trying this soy sauce, the bottle is clean and is not stained by the sauce inside. The product claims to be organic and does not contain harmful MSG. It is quite expensive but I estimate that taking health risks with products that contain a lot of harmful coloring, salt and other additives/preservatives is costlier.
